What kind of family do I really have?

My Grandmother not even cold in her grave and people are being asses. My dad is power of attorney and executor of my grandmothers estate not that there really is one to begin with. Apparently a few of my relatives that have keys to my grandmother's apartment went right after her funeral and looted through all of her stuff. There were pictures and other small mementos that were to go to my dad. There was jewelery that was to go to the granddaughters, but it was all gone when they went to pack it all and take so we sort through it as a family. NOT only that, but somebody went back to the funeral home and took pictures off the poster boards that the Teresa and Tomy put together. My Dad is beyond pissed, but won't talk to anybody about it. They know who did all he says is that they have to live with that on their conscious. I doubt that they have one to begin with. Oh, and that he is getting all or her money or that is what my aunt thinks...what money? My Grandmother had been in and out the hospital and the nursing home for almost a year now. Come on...if anything my dad will have to put more money down to help with the extra costs. Really what would my grandmother say??? It scares me to think what kind of direction that this family will now take with her being gone. Have we really come to stealing, looting, and backstabbing?

Glad last week is in the past

For those of you who are reading this I am sure that you have already talked to me about my ultra crappy week last week the only other people that had a way worse week was Amanda and her family. I should have known that my week was going to suck, but I digress.

First and for most we returned from our family vacation to Dubuque. The water park was nice, but more geared towards the kids. The museum was neat but four hours is a little much. Over all a great weekend. Conserned for my Grandma Mary who landed herself in the hospital on friday morning before our trip. She was admitted with dehydration and severe bladder infection. I made sure to make a trip to Wapello to see her on Thursday so just in case something would happen while we were gone I would have that one last memory stored in my brain. I have dealt with UTIs most my life not me personally, but my mom was very prone to them, at one point she had one soooo bad that she couldn't even speak nor lift her head off the pillow. I knew by looking and smelling that my Grandma had a BAD UTI. Upon arriving home we were under a severe thunderstorm warning for most of the evening which didn't help me at all...I HATE THAT KIND OF WEATHER. What I hated worse was the phone call I got at four thirty in the afternoon only being home for a hour or so I could only wonder who was calling me. It was Tomy she was upset and crying about Grandma. After I calmed her down she told me that Grandma was talking about going home and that mama had the beans cooking. She didn't know her vitals or nothing to that sort she only knew that Dad wanted us there right away. I called Amanda and we were off to the hospital. After spending several hours watching the weather and Grandma we all headed home. I am glad that I did not blow it off and say that my Dad was crazy I am glad that I went to see her. Those are probably the some of the most cherish memories that I will have of her. It amazes me how much faith she had and that she was so comfortable with her life being over on this plain of existence. I asked her if she was having a party in her room. Which was filled with reltives. She looked at me with her blue eyes and smiled I have a big party coming up. She told me who would all be here and she told me that she couldn't wait to see all the people that have gone before her. She kept telling me that Mama (My great grandma hainey) was making beans and that it was her turn the day after to make something. I know that she was preparing us for her leaving. She had her bags packed and was ready to go...all of us could only be so lucky to know that we are ready and not be forced in to leaving this life early then we want to. I knew as I left that night that I would greatly miss her. I made sure to tell her that but if she was ready then she needed to go to her party. She made me promise that I would two things for her. First Always treat others as I would like to be treated. It was a motto she live by her whole life. The second was never stop making memories, the are so important she told me. Of course I was not going to get nothing out of the deal She promised to do something when she crossed over. I know it sounds cheesy and lame, but hey that is how I was brought up. There is something beyond this not that I am ready for that at all, but I know that there is something else.

On Monday morning I awoke feeling like shit to put it mildly and my illness only progressed through out the week. Finally I went to the doctor on friday. I had a severe sinus infection and something with my throat. Lets just say I had some much gunk built up in my sinus' that it was starting to come out of my tear ducts...nice huh.

The week was a non stop hospital visit. Relatives coming in and out. I thought that Grandma was not going to make it through each night that I would get a phone call and her suffering would be done. The crazy thing is that when her doctor came to see her on Monday he told her that her vitals were good that she was fine execpt for the infection that was now spreading through her body. She told him no more antibiotics this is what she wanted to go home to God. I was almost certain that her fight was almost over thursday, but still no phone call. I had taken Tomy home with two nights in a row which is good she got to spend time with me, but more importantly she was not seating in that hospital all night. We got a early start Friday morning with Amanda calling she was crying and frantic. After calming her down so I could understand her she kept telling that her house was gone..what do you mean you house is gone. She the proceed to tell me that it burned to the ground just moments before calling me. Thank god no was home although she did lose every thing in the house and 23 pets. 3 dogs 18 puppies(10 were just born the night before) and 2 parrots. She was upset and distraught about several things. I was beside myself...what to do. I know that living in a small community sucks most the time, but my hometown out did and continues to out do themselves with help and donations for Amanda and her family.

Friday afternoon after my Dr. appt. I attempted to go back to work. Not feeling great was not helping me to say the least. I got the phone call at 7:20 Grandma Mary was gone. Her fight over.

I will remember my Grandmother as a wise lady who taught me many things in life. I promised her that is how I would remember her not her laying in a hospital bed asking for the lord to take her home. I will keep my promises to her and pass on her wisdom every chance I get for that really is her legacy. In two days time we will place her next to her parents and say our good byes. All I can say is have a great party Grandma and don't forget to kiss mom for me.

So...it is tuesday morning, and hella early at that. I have once again become one of the many insomniacs that are out there. AHHHH...nothing drives me more crazy then not being able to sleep...well one of the things that drives me crazy.

So you add my lack of sleep to my already crappy week, well lets just say I am a little cranky.

Finally a day off in like two and half weeks and what happens I get called in. No biggie, I don't mind the fact that at 8:30 last night I was sitting in front of this computer inputting numbers when I should have been at home with my husband who I thinks that he no longer has a wife...really no biggie. It just gets me how I got called in. It amazes me that half the kids that work for me make it through life. I work 50-60+ hours a week and they are whining about 20...what the? I know that they go to school and that they have other things, not only that but they are at the age where they don't have to worry about feeding and clothing themselves not to mention the lack of bills.

There are exceptions to the rule..I have two kids that work for me that I wish I could clone. The one has been here from the very beginning. She was kind of a slow starter but she has really advanced. She is a perfectionist, dependable, level headed kid. The other has only been with us a few months and is a good as if not better then most of my experienced employees. Plus he cracks me up. Then of course there is Tomy, the girl is doing great. She is working lots of hours and going to school which she is doing great in*applauds her*.

So the reason that I had to come to work is that the one kid who was supposed to work had a paper. Ok no biggie, but the paper just didn't crop up over night. After being told that she would need to find a replacement she was told to call back, but convenietly she didn't nor did her phone work. Nice....*Shakes her fist*. Thats ok..I will get even maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow but I will get even.

On another note, Chris got hired full time which means a $2.00 hour raise, payed holidays after 30 days, few days of vacation and after 90 days insurance. I am happy for him he likes it there which is good.

I have to say that thing are going fairly well. *Whispers it so who ever controls luck doesn't hear it* I have now moved to my managers position and I have to say that I am doing well. Chris and I are not seeing to much of each other these days due to schedules and such.

Tomy made it to florida and back in one piece. Being the thoughtful girl she brought back gifts. Awww...isn't that sweet. A week after her return she preformed in solo and ensemble contest she placed with a rating II on her solo and her trio( I think) which is very good for her first time going. I am looking forward to the summer months and possibly having her around a bit more.

Rod and Jac are now in Hawaii! Lucky them. Jac assures me that the plane/flying thing is not that bad so I may try it. I think if I do it once then the next time would not be that bad. While they are gone I have their truck at my disposal which is nice for them to let me do and it is also nice to have two vehicles. *Adding that to my already long wish list for birthday and other special occasions*. Chris and I are also looking after their cats. Jac if you happen to read this I have a special message for you. BRAM SAYS COME HOME NOW MOM!

As I cleaning, washing, folding, and picking up she is right there with me meowing the whole time. I imagine her saying all sorts of things like. Ok, where did they go this time with out me or I WANT MY MOMMY. She is silly and even let Nancy pet her for longer then usual when she was here for a little while today.

Congrats to Clay and Cathy on everything.
As 2004 draws to a close it is natural for us all to take a look back. The news, radio, websites, hell even Jacfu reflects on the years events. So here is my reflection on this years highlights and lowlights.

The start of year brought as babies of the two and four legged kind. My sister brought another son in to world and I became the proud mama of a purebred Great Dane puppy, named Fogymorning's Phantom of graceful love. We took in the third and final movie of the LOTR series. Watched as more of our friends and family left for the war and gay couples fought for their right to marry.

The middle of the year was full of plotting, planning and meeting new people. Got to see Prince with my bestest Pal. The presidential election well underway. My birthday,Chris birthday, and Pal's birthday. Out of town family came to visit. We also welcomed a out of country visitor. Took a trip to Chicago a couple of times...*smirks*. A marriage announced and the war wages on. We entertained ourselves with Hellboy and Punisher.

The end of the year brought us loss of jobs, loss of family and loss of more of our sanity. Gain of jobs and Bush re - elected *shakes her fist*. 100, 000 people killed in a tsunami. My sister finally gets engaged after three kids. Holidays have come and gone and the new year edges closer minute by minute. I had a chance to catch a few retrospects of the year. I was shocked to learn that we had lost so many people. Part creator of MTV's the Real World, Captian Kangaroo, Ray Charles, Rodney Dangerfield, Fay Wray, Julia Child.....the list could go on and on.

As I sit in front of the computer listening to my friends from the other room it reminds me. That even thought the year on a personal level sucked I still have the few most important things. My health, my family and most important those who support me in all that I do...my closest friends.

Happy New Year to you all!

Here is to a great 2005

Well on the eve of Christmas eve things have been quite hectic home and at work.

Last saturday I celebrated Christmas with my dad's side and my closest friends. I enjoyed both parties. Although I had more fun at the friend's one. I got some very nice gifts! Tinkerbell charm bracelet, and Necklace (always a hit), A magnetic necklace (which is more then just that), Tinkerbell ornament that she actually moves! Chris and I together got a gift card for wal mart.

I am hoping to get some pictures of Reindeer Phantom up soon for one and all to see.

I am looking forward to the New Year putting all the bad stuff behind and remembering the good stuff. I hope that you all have your Christmas wishes come true!

Merry Christmas! http://www.sherm.20megsfree.com/burgerking.swf

As per request of my bestest pal an update! *Makes the funny sound of the news bulletin*

Work, Work, sleep, eat, girl scouts, shop, work, work......that is all it has been for me the past few weeks. I have neglected somethings that are important such as my LJ.

Work is going good. I like it there and everybody seems to like me so yeah! I am enjoying the low stress of it. The place itself is a hit with the community. Yet like every place you work you have to have that one that is just well a pain in the ass to deal with. Luckily I don't have to work with her has much as the others.

Phantom celebrated her first birthday last monday! We took her to Rod and Jac's last week to play with Lady. She loved it! They were chasing each other around the house having a good old time. Jac was nice enough to take new pictures of her and put the them on her webshots site. http://community.webshots.com/photo/215784630/229899186PLMlwn this is just one of the few that are there!

Thanksgiving has come and gone and christmas is fast approaching. I am pretty much done shopping just a few more things to get. I still need to buy for Chris.

I spent thursday with the girls. Jac, Nancy, and Jeanne. We had a good time in Galena. Fun shopping and tasty food. Can't wait to do it again soon!

Well I hope find all well and good. I promise to post a bit more often!

Well another long break between posts...*grins* well lets see what has happened since then.

I am happy to report that I am now once again employed! WHOO HOO. I am now working at a new place in town called Papa Murphy's it is a take and bake pizza place. I am apparently impressing the right people because the owner/manager wants to make me an assistant manager of sorts only after a week or so of working. Yeah! *jumps up and down for joy* Chris is still at the dollar tree, but is looking for another job or a better one. My pal has some good prospects so YEAH for her too!!!

I have also become a co - leader of a girl scout troop daisies yes little 5 year olds. 12 of them...yes 12. I attended our first meeting this last thursday and I have to say that I think that I will like it. Other people think that I am crazy but that is ok we all have to be something.

Phantom is getting close to her first birthday. Wow...she probably weighs about 100 to 110 right now and she is still not done growing.

I am amazed that thanksgiving is only a few weeks off. The holidays are closing in quick on us this year.

I was also glad to look over the LJ's from the past few days and seen that HT had posted...was wondering and worried *holds fingers apart a small amount* about him. *Whispers* Things are starting to look up. I am afraid if I say it to loud it will scare it away.

I hope this post finds all well and such!

So the weeks have passed by since I last updated my journal. SO here is the update.

Chris was hired on by The Dollar Tree, stocking shelves. It is part time right now but, he is still looking for other employment. As for me I am still looking. I do have an interview tomorrow. We will see how that goes.

Other news, My 92 year old grandmother suffered a series of small strokes and she now has no side vision, she is in fine health other wise she just likes to give us a scare once and a great while. Apparently my other grandmother was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems, but I nor my family was notified that she was sick until she was released from the hospital. Nice huh. Rod's dad is still in the hospital, which is going on three weeks + now. I feel bad for them having a parent sick sucks. I feel at a loss of what to do or say because nothing makes it any better and the only way that I know this is having traveled down that road myself.

Well..that is all really new. Will update soon!

I the only reason that I delayed the feeling is because of all the time and effort that I put in to Rod and Jac's house and now I just have to wait for it to get mess again. <lj:music>The boys playing Hot shots fore</lj:music>

So the last catering has been dropped off and it is all over. Funny how it was almost to the day of what would have been our third anniversary. I did really good on the "last" official day that we were open, not one episode of crying. Not even when Marie started, okay maybe a tear but that was it. I but I stress I did...I was okay until Thursday the day of the last catering. I went home after cleaning some at Rod and Jac's was putting stuff away when I picked up the ziplock bag that held all of our recipes that we have tried, perfected and used. It hit me like a freight train the tears came and came. Chris was asking me what was wrong and all I could do was shrug. Silly how some things just get you.

Chris got a job but they keep pushing back the start date, construction problems. Seems they are waiting on a A/C unit from Floridia...yeah good luck with that! It is only part time but it better then nothing. He has said that he is going to continue to look for a job that is full time. *Crosses fingers.*

Any way, went job hunting! YEAH fun....NOT! Yet I did. I hate looking for new jobs. Especially when I liked and was good at the one that I did.

Was sick the first part of the week. Think I picked up a virus or something.
Went to Wapello to the kid's open house night. Got to see one of my old fav. teachers and an old school mate. Makes me feel old.

Cleaned Rod and Jac's house! PHeeewww...it was lots of hard work. Emptied some boxes for Rod that had been packed since they moved and now his computer room looks like a computer room. AND AND *holds herself back* YOU CAN SEE THE POOL TABLE AGAIN!!! *Pats herself on the back* That was my goal and I did it! So I cleaned 1.5 hours on Tues.,3.5 hours on Thurs., and 5 hours on Fri., so I made like 90 bucks..whoo hoo for me!

Gave all three brats baths today! That was tiring, with Phantom being the hardest...man is she stubborn! Fixed one of our throw pillows. Then we went with Rod and Jac to see Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow. It was interesting not something I am going to run out and by when it comes out but an interesting way of making a movie.

I am a bit worried about a few people close to me.*Ponders* I hope that things will settle down soon for all of us.

Hopefully tomorrow we will rp and all that goodness and hope that next week brings bigger and better things.

To move or not to move that is the question....

Ok..so now Chris and I are both unemployed it raises a interesting question of moving. One because I jokingly said that we were going to and visit Chris' long time friend John at the end of September. Chris was suppose to be his best man. Any we were going to visit and to look for new jobs..joking of course.

So Chris has to call John last night and tell him that we are both out of work and that we won't be coming. Yeah great right. So Chris tells him that I made the comment of that we were going to go down there and look for new jobs. Well John immediately jumps..no he leaps on to that bandwagon. He would be thrilled to have Chris that close. I don't know what to say. There are so many things here that I don't want to leave..and my family not being at the top of that list. Now I have to think about it..do I really want to move or is this just a passing thing?

*Lets out a sigh and shakes her head* Please...feel free to comment on this. Maybe one of you can help me...

Today is the third year that we have been to the Amana colonies for the Renaissance festival.

So much fun! Pretty costumes, cool swords, awesome jewlery and most importantly my favorite chain mail makers! LOVE THEM!!!! Ask anyone they will tell you "Misty loves those guys."

I looked for a good hour for them and then Chris came and got me dragging me to their tent. YEAH.... I could have jumped up and down right there. Mystic Metalweavers rock! Jennifer and Dave are a husband and wife team how learned how to do chain mail weave and tons of other stuff. They have the whole family involved their 10yr old son came up with his own design...how cool is that. Any way I got what they call a 6 in 1 weave is very pretty silver and of course purple. We got Jac her b-day present from a year ago finally a awesome tiara with black and sparkley beads hanging from it then Rod got her a pretty choker. Jeanne got her ring sized that we got her for christmas and she bought herself a box weave necklace with a dragon on it....totally cool looking. Nancy got herself a anklet in the same color as me but in a 8 and 1 weave. I want one! I got Tomy a simple but pretty bracelet in pink and silver. Yes everyone was getting stuff from them...even two of the girls that went with us that one of our former co - worker knows.

I can't wait til christmas...I am thinking about getting Phantom a collar and everyone something cool from them!!!!!

www.mysticmetalweavers.com check it out!
